This will be the first performance of Secret Egret Records.

Secret Egret Records is a new experiment in releasing, listening to, and creating music and art.

Every two weeks we release music via *postcard only* to our mailing list. 

Each postcard has a QR code that sends listeners to our website to experience the new music. 

The postcard also has original art by Bay Area artists. Our first round of postcards features original works by Oakland based artist Noah Mendel and Oakland based musician, Jordan Stern.

Noah’s practice combines water color painting, weaving and sewing. He paints water color washes, cuts them for the warp and weft, and then weaves them together. The pieces are finished with hand sewn detailing to close the seams of the weaving. The process is slow and meticulous—attributes that are often missing from our daily routines. 


Jordans’s music practice combines teaching and composing. Using various instruments, he creates deliberate, unhurried soundscapes.

When performing live, Jordan invites audience members to participate in the creation of these soundscapes by providing them with instruments and prompts for playing them. 


Secret Egret Record's performances are a participatory experience, where attendees collaborate to make music and visual art, in the same style of the artists’ original work.
